audiowhore, * INCOMPLETE RECORDING *, >> recording details, taper: audiowhore, lineage: SP-CMC-8 > Samson PM-4 > Minidisc (Sony MZ-NH1) > Creative Sound Blaster Premium HD external soundcard > Adobe Audition, taping location: in front of the sound desk, total recording time: 1 hour 11 mins 32 seconds (fits on 1CD) - approximately 20 mins not recorded due to malfunction, >> A 'rough transfer' version of this recording was circulated to a limited circle of Bob collectors in May 2011 on the understanding that it not be torrented or further shared., This version supersedes that earlier one. It is a new transfer made with a superior sound card and noticeably improved sound quality to the 'rough transfer' version., >> Concert details, This concert occurred on the 5th day of the 2011 Bluesfest., Bob played from 8.30 - 10pm., Warren Haynes and His Allstar Band played before Bob and bored the capacity crowd who were waiting for Bob absolutely shitless., Elvis Costello and the Imposters performed after Bob and closed the festival for the day., It was reported that Elvis and other performers were either not allowed to watch Bob's set from the side of the stage or were moved on when they tried to do so., The MoJo Stage was the largest of the 5 stages at this festival. It was a huge circus tent with open sides allowing persons outside to see in., A large sound desk and video mixing area was located in the middle of the tent effectively dividing the venue into a front and back half., While the sound mix was excellant in the front half there were many reports of people behind the sound desk saying that the sound there was dreadful., As well, the sight lines from behind the sound desk were very poor and large video screens were placed there to allow people in the back-half of the tent to see., While a professional multi-cam mix of close-filmed vision was provided for all other Bluesfest acts on this stage, of course Bob does not allow such things and a long range static view of the entire stage was all that was shown on the video screens during his set., Bob was just a speck on this view. These sound and vision issues for people in the back-half of the tent resulted in many unhappy campers and negative media reports published about this performance., The Byron Bay Bluesfest 2011 was held on the Tyagarah Tee Tree Farm which is located 11 kilometres north of Byron Bay in northern New South Wales., The festival site can accommodate 17,500 festival visitors per day and 6,500 campers., The site is a fully operational Tea Tree Farm for most of the year and turns into the Bluesfest site for a few weeks before, during and after the Easter festival weekend each year., http://www.bluesfest.com.au/
