sony mz r700, VG AUD (with samples), Sony MZ-R700 (mini disc) with Sony ECM-DS70 mic > Sony PCM-M10 (line in ) > CDWav (saved FLAC 6) > DIME > you, I've just literally stumbled upon this capture of Bob and the boys at the Tabernacle in Atlanta from 2004. I have never shared this recording, and having now just re-listened to it in its entirety, I consider it to be a very honest and satisfying capture of a hot night with Bob and the band clicking on all cylinders.. the first night of a three-night run at the famed Tabernacle.. an old church, turned holy concert hall (from venue website) :, The Tabernacle building has a rich & storied history. Opened in 1910 as The Broughton Tabernacle; Dr. Leonard Gaston Broughton was the pastor and a physician. Dr. Broughton started the, Georgia Baptist Medical Center and nursing school, which began as the Tabernacle infirmary with three beds. The Third Baptist Church was an active congregation with over 4000 members., The congregation relocated during the mid eighties and the building lay vacant until the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, when it was converted into a House Of Blues club. my edit : At the close, of the Olympics, Bob performed two shows on August 3 & 4, 1996., Only a couple of warts on this capture... your humble taper got a little say we say, "over-enthused" at the start of the show and got a tad loud. Please accept my most humble apologies... and then, some couple close to me had to work out (loudly) what must have been some very important business during the first half of Moonlight... sigh... but other than that, I believe that you will be, able to really enjoy this show and capture... the sound runs a bit hot during the rockers, but it certainly doesn't distract from the power and magnificence of this performance., (thanks to Boblinks for the setlist and song info)
