BOOTLEG: dylan and the band return vinyl; Mega-rare restored LP "Dylan And The Band Return" afternoon show Boston Gardens 1974-01-14 AUD READ NOTES, This rare 2LP set came out later that year. It was pressed once, this is an original pre-Berkeley product and the show was never repressed by another label on vinyl. This is the first copy of this show I have seen since then. Unfortunately the two records were very mishandled. There's an image attached of one of the discs. They weren't played very much at all, just treated horribly. This led me to have to present this show to you with some otherwise unavoidable warts. There were a few boots on vinyl from the 1974 tour. The most available set was a CBM release from Charleston three days later. The set you have here is actually a much clearer recording. Dylan and the band are in a fantastic mood and it shows. What is presented is only the Dylan portion of the show. There, Some words on what was done to this set to bring it to the condition you hear it now. Both LPs had heat damage on one edge on both sides for the first few minutes. I couldn't remove the swishing sound entirely. This recording was in true two-channel mono. Performing a test with L-R produced only surface noise. Each channel had different DC offset, which was treated individually. Combining the two channels into one channel mono resulted in reduced surface noise. A duplicate of this mono was made for the other channel. This method was only partially successful due to disc damage. As a result, sides two and four are only the left side, rather than than a combination of the two. The solo section Dylan performed has a slightly better sound. I would have preferred to have been able to present to you a perfect transfer. Unfortunately it was this or nothing at all, and, well you need to hear this show., A DoinkerTape

bittorrent download 01/24; different recording than LB-11518 based on different crowd at end of t2; probably same recording as LB-2518 based on same crowd talking at end of t8; in comparison on t8 this is more muffled; (did not listen to all of this)
