=================== =================== =================== === BD1994-07-10 Cologne, Germany info.txt =================== =================== =================== Bob Dylan And His Band 1994-07-10 Cologne, Germany (Tanzbrunnen) From my old DAT (received in trade 1995-03-xx). Based on various conversational snippets, this seems to be from the same source tape as LB-2984. I always thought this was a digital transfer from a digital master, but the LB listings all refer to hiss (generally an analog thing). The only other version of this tape I have is the "bittorrent from 01/16" mentioned in the LB-2984 entry -- I have not, for example, heard the "Love Minus Zero" bootleg version of this tape -- but comparing my DAT (this) to the 01/16 bittorrent, this has substantially less hiss. (I compared a quiet song, Love Minus Zero, and the hiss is very noticeable over the beginning of the song on the 01/16 bittorrent version, but I hear literally zero hiss over the beginning of the song on this version.) Sometimes I think I can hear some hiss on mine during the intervals between songs, but other times I think that might just be crowd rumble. (I'm still personally inclined to believe that this may be a direct transfer from a digital master.) One more thing: the 01/16 bittorrent speculated (with some evidence) that this tape might have originated as a DSBD ... It's an excellent audience tape, but there are moments when you can clearly hear the taper or some of his nearby sectionmates talking in between songs (in German, I think) -- so definitely not a soundboard. But at this audio level who cares?? TRANSFER DATE: 2016-05-07 WHAT I DID: DAT > WAV > Sound Forge (broke intro tracks, fade in 1, fade out 14, removed 1:41 of encore interval audience noise after 12) > FLAC. WHAT I DID NOT DO: resample the files (they remain @ 48 khz, just as on the original DAT, so you will have to convert them yourself in order to burn to CD).
