Thanks to MonicasDude for pointing out the complete version of Maggie's Farm available elsewhere which has been seemlessly edited onto the end of Masters , a non destructive edit. Flac files were all speed corrected by me in Cool Edit Pro in 32 bit then saved at 16 bit. **Note - There is still the edit in the guitar solo of Like A Rolling Stone which has been on all copies. - Dave Of Tasmania *this is the corrected torrent posted by Tokemaster Chris 7-21-06 Bob Dylan The Never Ending Tour "Wanted Man" Bristol, CT September 4, 1988 Lake Compounce Lineage: Silver CD>WAV>FLAC 8>Free to trade World Wide Running Time: 79:23 Tracks: Subterranean Homesick Blues I Don't Believe You Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues Ballad Of A Thin Man Had A Dream About You Baby Simple Twist Of Fate Highway 61 Revisited To Ramona (acoustic) Rank Strangers (A. Smith Marshall Crenshaw Christopher Parker Review: Super nice package from the Italian Label KTS. This manufacturer went to the 'Nth' degree to establish themselves as a legitimate outfit. From the 'point-of-sale' posters, to slick, full color wholesale catalogs. From merchandise order forms inside the CD (which allowed purchase of titles with a credit card), to a true factory seal on the outside. This CD is no exception. Great aesthetics, and the trademark CD silk screened with the cover photo. The sound quality is always fantastic as well. This one is a perfectly quiet soundboard tape with very little to no audience (even between songs). Although there is a small bit of tape hiss. A jam-packed 80 minutes was virtually unheard of in '92. It's enough to capture the entire show (although Like A Rolling Stone suffers from a bad edit to eliminate some of the long guitar lead. The show itself is good enough, though far from remarkable. Dylan just never seems to get into it. The one thing that this 1988 tour was noted for was songs Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, Had A Dream About You Baby, Rank Strangers, & I Don't Believe You. =================== =================== =================== === LCFP.txt =================== =================== =================== Bob Dylan Lake Compounce Festival Park Bristol, CT, 4 September 1988 Soundboard AF002 Audifon EMIR Deutschland http://www.bobsboots.com/CDs/cd-l03.html Lineage: Legendary Tape/Great Source/ Myths, Stories and Legends: Silver: Vaio Bluray: Easy CD-DA Extractor using direct single pass to Flac: HC (freedom) Heres one of the other legendary soundboards but this ones a little controversial and its taken some time to work out the history of the thing. Like Blow Out It has not been up for a long time on HC probably before the crash / flood. Its easy to get wrapped up in trees, tapes and CDs here so Ive summarised the history as I can fathom it a couple of paragraphs down. Before that though ... ...for me its always been simple? When I listen to this its never been about CDs etc - its that Im actually in the recording studio and heh, its just me, Bob and the band I mean this is stuff you just dream of I still cant get over having something as special as this. I remember getting this and thinking ...what the %^^%^& .... And whatever anyone says this will always be just me, Bob and the band in a studio somewhere chatting away in the breaks between songs. The quality/mix of this is as good as it gets its like a studio album better in fact than some ;) This may sound strange given that this is in fact a concert but its a soundboard that does not pick up anything except Bob and the music. Its absolutely wonderful and mad as hell given that it sounds like a studio album not a concert all at the same time. IMHO think thats why it so divides people everyone thinks it sounds amazing, but is it too clinical? Others say that hes emphasising words too much. Well I love the way he emphasises phrasing that means to me hes with us and Im sure that Bob has spoken about how phrasing is at the heart of his live performances. We have all heard concerts where sometimes Bob isnt there at all. Well he is here! Really here! With me and the band in the studio!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, for those of you who have not heard this I think that youre in for a treat but heres the chance to make up your own mind. OK, so here is the complicated story for this one, and it goes something like this. Essentially there are three available soundboard Boots. (1) Lake Compounce Festival Park Audifon EMIR (LCFP) (2) Wanted Man Kiss the Stone (KTS) (3) Mr. Tambourine Man vol.4 Banana (MTM) MTM is missing lots of tracks and artwork is a mess WM has gorgeous artwork, but sound is hissy, there is a timing issue (the thing was speeded up to fit the whole concert onto a CD and there is a bad edit on LARS) LSCFP the one uploaded here -has perfect sound, good artwork but is missing Ramona There is some history on HC with WM see http://www.hungercity.org/details.php?id=1027 Tokemaster Chris 7-21-06 speed corrected WM in 2006 leaving/creating the hiss (???) I have spent some time trying to work through all of this and IMHO the speed corrected version of KTS does not come close to LCFP. Im not sure whether the above HC version was speed corrected or not I have been comparing using Massimos version uploaded to Dime (thank you Massimo). Anyway, you can see how confusing it gets. In terms of pure source I have only LCFP. This said, for completeness, I have included Ramona from the speed corrected KTS Dime release because I have no idea where to get the equivalent LCFP source material. I have also included the complicated lineage text file for that single track. I have not heard the non speed corrected version maybe some of the problems have come from the processing. There is a fourth really good aud version recently uploaded on HC - thank you to aaadbell! http://www.hungercity.org/details.php?id=7366 (thank you too to r9453 - gone but not forgotten). This of course, does not sound anything like the Soundboard its just in a different universe. You cannot compare them, they are different animals. Its not a better/worse thing, just different. Again, LCFP is like a studio album. Its worth listening to both to appreciate the differences between sb and aud. I have again added comprehensive 300DPI high res. artwork. (Sorry -its brought up some scratches on the CD you cannot see with the human eye this is well played!). Its not quite as wow as the KTS but I wouldnt trade our sound for their pictures!!!!!!!!
