I am listing a RARE COLLECTABLE. A previously UNRELEASED recording of Bob and friends performing three full renditions of "Sidewalks, Fences, and Walls". Two versions are unedited, complete with studio chatter from Bob and musicians/engineer (Producer David Briggs [February 29, 1944 - November 26, 1995] An American record producer best known for his work with Neil Young and Crazy Horse). More info about David Briggs @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Briggs_%28producer%29. The song itself is a beautiful Love song, with great qaulity on the recording. Bob sounds great. Each rendition is a bit different. It is so cool to hear the different styles before edit, and then finally, the studio edited version. I have to say, I like the second rendition the best. This song is so absolutely beautiful. I know the value of these recordings is far beyond the listing price. This recording has ment more to me than anything I own-however, now is the time that I need to cash in. I feel that the trade off of me being able to successfuly begin my business - and you becoming the proud owner of a uncirculated, unreleased studio copy of the one and only Bob Dylan, is just the best of the west. P.S. just want to thank David Briggs(R.I.P.) for making this possible. I AM TRYING TO GET MY BUSINESS GOING AND HAVE VERY LIMITED FUNDS-SO I LIST MY PRIDE AND JOY. THIS TAPE WAS HANDED TO ME PERSONALLY FROM DAVID BRIGGS SOME TWENTY YEARS AGO, AFTER DAVID WAS PHONED BY BOB IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS TO COME AND DO THE RECORDING. I HAVE LISTED THIS ONCE BEFORE ON EBAY, BUT MY COMPUTER SYSTEM WASN'T WORKING CORRECTLY AND WAS UNABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY EVEN MAKE A QUALITY CD. HERE'S WHAT THE ORIGINAL LISTING SAID: "It was early on a Fall morning, that I heard the sounds of wheels rolling down my country driveway. I rose from my bed to peer out of my window to see a small green convertible pulling closer to the front door. I answered the door. David Briggs says, "I've got a gift for you!!-- Sit Down. Smoke This. Listen to This. I just came from the studio with Bob Dylan and this is for you!--'Sidewalks, Fences, and Walls'." My good friend, amazing producer David Briggs, had just handed me his personal working copy from a session they just got finished with that morning. He rushed right over, knowing my intense Love for Bob and all and any of his work. To my incredible delight, this recording was, and is unlike any other that I've heard. Sidewalks, Fences, and Walls is is the only track on the bootleg, with several different renditions. Complete with studio dialog between engineers-musicians, and Bob's personal instructions on his ideas. The audio quality leaves a little to be desired, however, the gem content will easily surpass any "Hertz-geek's" criticism. The original is a cassette, and for preservation reasons, I've burned the copy you are bidding on in standard format on CD. This is and will be the ONLY copy I will ever release, making it EXTREMELY RARE!" --listing posted Feb.2004 Ebay. I NOW HAVE A HIGH QUALITY RECORDING, AND ONLY ONE COPY AT THAT. Also, the only substantial info on these recordings on the the web has been this website: http://www.allalongthewatchtower.dk/tapes/feb2005.html This is what was added to their page May 2004: "According to Krogsgaard, the session records for March 5, 1987 -- the first tracks cut for "Down In The Groove" -- list a song identified only as "Side Walks." Olof's Chronicles lists: 8585 Sunset Sound Studios Hollywood Los Angeles, California 5 March 1987 Down In The Groove recording session. 1. Street People (?) 2. Side Walks (?) 3. Sugaree (Jerry Garcia) 4. My Prayer (?) Bob Dylan (vocal & guitar), Jesse Ed Davis (guitar), Gary Ray (clarinet), Robert Tsukamoto (bass), Mark A. Schatzkammer (drums). Note. None of these tracks are circulating. Stereo studio recordings. Session info updated 8 May 2004." http://www.allalongthewatchtower.dk/tapes/feb2005.html This site may or may not be the correct info. On the recording, there is piano, but this site doesn't list a piano player. Unfortunately, David has passed away, and cannot be reqestioned about all this. I do know that this was the only time David had recorded Bob- He was enthused about that. AGAIN, I AM GOING TO LIST THIS ONCE WITH A HIGH STARTING BID- IN HOPES TO ONLY SELL IT ONCE. SO THAT YOU AND I WOULD BE THE ONLY ONES TO MY KNOWLEDGE TO OWN SUCH A TREASURE. IF THIS LISTING IS UNSUCCESSFUL, I WILL RELIST COPIES OF IT SEVERAL TIMES AT A MUCH MUCH LOWER RESERVE. GOOD LUCK FOR THE BOTH OF US. DO WHAT YOU MUST DO, AND DO IT WELL. Shipping and Handling To Service US $144.81 10001, United States UPS Next Day AirŪ
