Bob Dylan Civic Auditorium, Santa Monica, CA March 27, 1965 AUD To Ramona Gates Of Eden If You Gotta Go Go Now It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) Love Minus Zero/No Limit Mr Tambourine Man Don't Think Twice With God On Our Side She Belongs To Me It Ain't Me Babe Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll (Missing) All I Really Want To Do It's All Over Now, Baby Blue The legend behind this 1965 audience recording is that two girls smuggled a reel-to-reel tape recorder into the show. Listening to this is like watching a documentary film: it does capture the moment. Our heroines turned off the recorder at times, probably to save battery power, and some tracks are incomplete. "With God On Our Side" ends abruptly; "It Ain't Me Babe" is also cut short. Some songs may just be missing entirely (Hattie Carroll). At times the girls can be heard, but they're not that intrusive; mostly they seem to be worried about whether the recorder is working. It was, and the tape isn't all that bad, considering the circumstances. This may not be a pristine document like today's audience recordings, but it does put you in the room at a gig on Dylan's last entirely solo American tour.
