Bob Dylan, 8/1/71, THE CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH - APPLE ACETATE, Remastered Edition, 1CDR LB-9846, (50min), apple acetate re, GEORGE HARRISON, featuring Bob Dylan, Remasters Workshop RMW 700, DC offset eliminated; Acetate source declicked, pitch, phase and levels corrected; tape source processed for intelligibility. From the 2002 CD on Unicorn UC-090., This acetate has never been presented in declicked form before. The CD contains sides five and six of the preliminary mixes of the Bangladesh album pressed at or for the Apple office in New York City., Following these is an interview George gave to VARA Radio in Holland in 1971, concerning the concert, the plight of the people of Bangladesh, musical and spiritual matters. The original recording was so muddy that what George was saying was barely intelligible. The audio content above 2000 Hz was tape hiss. This was rolled off at 4000 Hz and the BBE Sonic Maximizer was used to bring out the higher frequencies without an equal amount of new hiss being added. So now, you can tell what is being said. It is quite an improvement. It's not great, but it's better. It was the best we could do with what we had to work with., ffp & st5 files and artwork are included., Enjoy!, Remasters Workshop --------------------------------------------------- bittorrent download 12/11; in comparison to official 1991 cd release, this is harsher and less clear with more distortion; very good to excellent sound [B+] --------------------------------------------------- 1.
